Encore une journée divine
Denis Michelis
A man confides in us. A psychologist, he has just published a book called Changing the World, in which he reveals a revolutionary method for curing all of men’s ills: less thought, more action! That sums up his bold, brash form of therapy, which he himself applied meticulously to finally win the heart of the woman he had secretly loved for as long as he can remember. There’s just one problem, though: our man is currently locked up in a psych ward. A tragedy befell his loved ones. Day after day, a doctor and nurse pay him a visit, drawing out his 'revelations.' In the manner of a police investigation, we gradually find out about his past, his turbulent relationship with both his family and his patients, which in fact led him both to write Changing the World… and to acting on what he wrote. Through the ravings of this mad, selfish, manipulative, demagogic psychologist in deep denial, Denis Michelis offers us a tragi-comedy that is more current than ever about the incessant threat of populism, and the temptations and dangers of over-simplifying our thoughts.
