Maurice Titran

• Maurice Titran, born in 1943, is a pediatrician at Roubaix Hospital. He runs the Early-Action Socio-Medical Center, which he founded in 1981. Strongly influenced by the work of child psychiatrist Françoise Dolto, he was actively involved in the TV program Le Bébé est une personne (Babies are People Too), produced in 1981 by Bernard Martino for TF1. Elected to the Municipal Council of Roubaix in 1995, he was in charge first of the city’s Early Childhood program and then of the entire Health program for several years. He was the head of the recent national campaign about the ill effects of alcohol during pregnancy.
