Nicolas Bokov

Born in Moscow in 1945, Nicolas Bokov’s scathing satire La Tête de Lénine (Lenin’s head, 1982) contributed to the collapse of the Soviet Empire. Denounced for his samizdat activities, he became an exile in France in 1975. He is the author of Nikto (published under a pseudonym by Denoël in 1972).Dans la rue, à Paris (In the street, in Paris) Noir sur Blanc, 1998), with a foreword by Abby Pierre, describes his life as a homeless person. His other books, also published by Noir sur Blanc, are: Déjeuner au bord de la Baltique (Lunch on the Banks of the Baltic, 1999); La Conversion (2003); La Zone de réponse (2003), and Or d’automne et pointe d’argent. Conversations avec Victor Koulbak (Autumn Gold and Silver Tip… 2005). He currently resides in Paris.
