A publisher of foreign literature at Phébus since 2000, Daniel Arsand has acted as a passer for authors who have since achieved tremendous recognition, like William Trevor, Keith Ridgway, Joseph O’Connor, Edward Carey, and of course, Elif Shafak, Bengt Ohlsson and Julie Otsuka. His first novel, La Province des Tenèbres, won the 1998 Femina First Novel Prize, and in 2000, the Grand Prix Jean Giono was awarded to his second novel, En Silence (Phébus). His previous novel, published by Flammarion, Un certain mois d’avril à Adana (2011 European Novel Chapter Prize) will be published in paperback by Libretto.
