Le Ventre du président
Cookie Allez
The President is the director of the General Company, a multinational conglomerate. He has tremendous responsibilities and travels endlessly. He’s still young. He isn’t known to have had any affairs.
Amelia is the object of the President’s attention. She’s a sullen black-and-white cow who could use a breath of fresh air. The plot unfolds in an upper-class building in an upper-class neighborhood. The inhabitants have a certain standing to maintain, and the concierge is ever on the alert.
The President has just bought two apartments on the seventh floor of the building. He knocks walls down to connect them. Officially, he is occupying all that space all by himself. In fact, the President has been living with Amelia for almost three years. The man has ordered his life around the cow’s (once upon a time the President calf-napped her from a pasture). They have become so attached to each other that they can’t imagine being apart, even if there life together poses endless problems, for the President at least.
But a cow is harder to keep than a mistress! You need to have hay delivered. You need to shovel the manure, and get rid of it discreetly, preferably by night. And when you’re the President, this double life can turn into a real hassle.
After a few months, certain signs and odd smells, the President’s neighbors begin to find his behavior intriguing. Until the day Amelia falls deathly ill, and the desperate President has to call in a vet…
