Les grands violonistes du XXe siècle tome 2
1948-1985Jean-Michel Molkhou
Three years after the publication of the first volume of The Great Violinists of the Twentieth Century, this second volume is devoted to artists born in the latter half of the century (from 1948 to 1985). In addition to recounting the violinist’s life and career, each of the 30 portraits that compose this book also describes their repertoire, what makes their musical style unique and the key elements of their discography. In some cases, an interview with the artist is included in the portrait, granting music lovers a clear idea of each musician’s art and personality. Each biography is illustrated with a photograph, and the book comes with a CD of more than five hours of music, offering a particularly representative sample of each violinist’s work.
Portraits of the 30 greatest violinists born in the second half of the 20th century, by violin specialist Jean-Michel Molkhou. A record, included with the book, provides a significant piece from each artist’s repertoire.
