Souvenirs de Starobielsk
Joseph Czapski
In this, his first autobiographical work, Joseph Czapski paints a portrait of Starobielsk, a Soviet prison camp, and of his fellow officers, most of whom are sent to an unknown destination in March, 1940. Indeed, many of them would disappear at Katyn. Illustrated with full-color drawings made inside the camp, this work includes a historical, documented appendix about the Katyn Forest Massacre.
